I grew up in Alachua, Florida and graduated from Santa Fe High School, so this community isn’t just where I live, it’s where I have been rooted since the 70s. Since 2003, I’ve dedicated my career to helping business owners keep their financial lives organized, compliant, and stress‑free. My work focuses on what small businesses need most: dependable accounting, accurate payroll, thorough business tax preparation, and support with IRS and state tax resolution.

I hold a Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) and maintain the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Record of Completion each year so that I may represent clients with the IRS. I’m also a proud member of the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA) and the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). Staying current matters to me, so I continue investing in ongoing education and training to ensure my clients always receive accurate, up‑to‑date guidance.

I currently live in Alachua with my husband on a small farm with chickens, cats and our dog, and I’m grateful to be just a short drive from

my two daughters and grandchildren.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me gardening, canning, traveling in our RV, or attending hands‑on workshops that teach the traditional skills I wish I’d learned from my grandmothers. The simple, old‑fashioned values of patience, kindness, and treating people with respect shape the way I serve my clients.

Earlier in my career, I had the unique opportunity to work with both business giants NASCAR and NHRA, as well as for a property management company that served low-income households. Those experiences reminded me that no matter how big the stage is or how humble the roots, people appreciate honesty, humility, and a steady hand. I bring that same down‑to‑earth approach to every business I support.

Accounting Specialist

Bethany and I earned our Master of Science in Accounting together in 2008, and she’s been a steady,

trusted presence in my professional life ever since.

As Hometown Accountant's Accounting Specialist,

she helps keep client books organized and accurate,

making sure the day‑to‑day financial details stay on track.

She works with us part‑time, but her reliability and calm, thoughtful approach make her an important part

of the rhythm of our office.

When she’s not working, Bethany enjoys

spending time with her family and relaxing on her farm in Virginia with her beloved animals.

Leann Knowles

Client Relations Coordinator

Leann joined the Hometown Accountant team in April 2024 and if you’ve spoken with her, you’ve likely already been greeted by her warm, unmistakable New Jersey accent!

Leann brings a warm, approachable energy to our firm, and she’s often the first friendly voice people hear when they reach out. She has a natural gift for making people feel comfortable and guiding new prospects through the discovery process.

Her professionalism and genuine care help us offer that small‑town hospitality we’re known for.

Outside of work, you’ll find Leann enjoying live music concerts and spending quality time with her family and dogs.

Nikole St. Lawrence

Administrative Support Coordinator

Born and raised right here in Alachua, Florida,

Nikole keeps our office running smoothly in all the ways that matter. As our Administrative Support Coordinator, she handles essential tasks, organizes documents, and helps free up time so the rest of the team can stay focused on client work. Her dependability, attention to detail, and deep local roots

help maintain the welcoming, community‑centered

feel at the heart of Hometown Accountant.

When Nikole is not working, she enjoys spending time in nature with her family or cuddled up at home with her pets.

Aoibhe Jane

The Heart of the Office

Aoibhe Jane (that’s “Ava Jane”) is the sweetest pup you’ll ever meet. She’s a hardworking service dog with a gentle spirit, and a natural way of making every day feel a little brighter.

Around town, she’s known for riding along on errands, greeting people with her little licks, and settling in at the office like she owns the place. Whether it’s a long drive, a quiet walk through the woods, or a slow morning start,
